Build Specifications: Bicycle Rim Version

Materials

26" steel or aluminum bicycle rim (non-magnetic preferred)
4–8 N52 neodymium magnets (flat block or arc segments)
18–20 AWG magnet wire (enameled)
PVC pipe or acrylic tube for coil core
Auto distributor-style breaker point OR MOSFET driver (if going modern)
2 x 12V deep cycle batteries
Full-wave bridge rectifier (10A+)
Compass + laser level (for orientation alignment)

Design Notes

Mount magnets evenly spaced on outer edge of rim (velcro or epoxy + shielding)
Use spokes or 3D-printed stabilizers for rotor balance
Attach coil stand to aim directly at rotor arc (radial alignment)
Mechanically trigger the coil pulse using cam & breaker (or digital MOSFET timing with Arduino if preferred)
